Worship leader Darlene Zschech is praising God for what she calls a miraculous turnaround for a friend seriously injured in a Christmas Eve car crash.

Danielle McFarlane was placed in a medically induced coma following the collision in Australia. On Christmas Day friends said that "Her condition is currently deemed critical, the hope is that she will remain stable so that the medical team are able to try and wake her up slowly over the next few days."

Zschech quickly took to her social media asking followers to pray for a miracle. "If you believe in the power of prayer... please join with us as Danielle fights for life in all its fullness."

McFarlane's husband, Jordan, said she suffered a fractured skull and severe swelling "around various points in her brain."

On Friday, Jordan updated that "Prayers have been answered and Danielle has awaken (sic) from her coma."

He says that her progress has "completely shocked both doctors and nurses by the amazing signs she has shown amongst great adversity. Whilst she has achieved a fantastic milestone, we now begin the long and arduous journey that is the road to recovery.

"We will constantly be praying for her continued strength and perseverance, but for now we let her rest again in preparation of some exhausting days ahead."

Over the weekend, Zschech shared Jordan's update on her social media, thanking those who had been praying. McFarlene is part of Zschechs church, Hope Unlimited, in Australia.
