A woman who was the victim of a serious assault last week is still in hospital, and her family is asking for prayer for her recovery.

Family members contacted CHVN saying, "Please pray for her. I don’t know anyone who would have a larger praying audience than you." CHVN is not naming the family member to protect the victim's identity.

You can pray that she makes a full recovery, pray for the surgical team that’s taking care of her. Pray that the police find the people that did this. Pray for strength for all my family members and her close friends.

She was found by police at 12:40 a.m. by police in the green space on the northeast corner of Main Street and Higgins Avenue. Police say that she was suffering from severe injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Her family member says he can't understand why something like this would happen. "My sister is a kind, loving, giving person. Everyone that knows her loves her."

He says that she's typically a woman worried about making others happy. "She would do anything to make someone laugh even at her own expense. She has the most thunderous laugh."

The woman is still in the Surgical ICU as of Monday morning. The family member says that the injuries could have life-long implications.

My family is hurt and confused. Most live up north and we are trying to figure out how to get my mom down.

As for specific prayer requests, the family member says, "You can pray that she makes a full recovery, pray for the surgical team that’s taking care of her. Pray that the police find the people that did this. Pray for strength for all my family members and her close friends."
