2021 has been a time of praise for believers, with one faith-based organization reporting the release of at least 83 Christians since late January.

Voice of the Martyrs Canada has been announcing the releases of Christian prisoners from Eritrean prisons for the past six months.

A report from Church in Chains reported the 83 releases this year. Some of the prisoners released had been imprisoned for more than a decade in atrocious conditions.

Mussie Eyob, who was arrested in Feb. 2011 for preaching to Muslims was among those released.

Twen Thedros is believed to have been released late last year.

In Eritrea alone, about 150 Christians are reportedly still imprisoned, with reasons behind their captivity unclear.
