A power outage in south Winnipeg that left around 9000 customers in the dark Thursday morning has been restored for the most part.

Only 1300 customers remain without power this hour.

A pole fire on Waverly Street is to blame for the early morning outage that left customers south of Bishop Grandin Boulevard and west of Pembina Highway without power.

Crews continue to work to restore power. Complete restoration is expected around 9:30 a.m..
