A Canada-wide search is underway for an armed and dangerous man regarding an early morning shooting on Main Street.

On July 21, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a shooting on the 1000 block of Main Street. At approximately 5:45 a.m., police found Cody Alexander Sleigh, the 31-year-old victim on the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was then transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say Sleigh was originally from British Columbia and was residing in Winnipeg at the time.

Two days later, on July 23, the 31-year-old died in hospital from his wounds. 

In Williams Lake, BC two months later, authorities made an initial arrest in the homicide. On September 7, detectives from the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit and Williams Lake RCMP arrested 32-year-old Kleon Cassidy Pop. Pop was returned to Winnipeg and is now being charged with First Degree Murder.

Authorities are now looking for a 19-year-old whom they say is a second suspect in the slaying. A Canada-wide arrest warrant is being issued for Dyllan Petrin.

Police say Petrin is believed to be in the south-central area of British Columbia.
 
The 19-year-old is 5’5,” of a medium build, and has story dark hair. He has a tattoo on his right forearm and a tattoo of Chinese characters on the left side of his neck.
 
Police are asking residents to not approach Petrin as he is considered armed and dangerous.
