Authorities believe that there are more witnesses to a North End homicide and are asking members of the public to come forward with information.

Police say that when they arrived at 8:10 a.m. in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue on August 4, they discovered a 38-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he was then pronounced deceased.

On Friday, authorities arrested a 38-year-old, Albert Sam Campeau, charging him with Second Degree Murder.

Authorities are searching for more information regarding the homicide, and are now releasing the victim's name. Owen Russell Smith, a 29-year-old, is being identified as the victim.

While they do have one suspect in custody, police believe there are others who have more information about the homicide. Authorities say that they believe others were in the area at the time of the shooting who they have not yet interviewed. They are asking those people, and others who may have information, to contact investigators by calling 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
