Over the span of twenty years, police allege a Winnipeg man assaulted at least five people, and say there may be more victims.

Last month, officers became aware of two reports made to an out-of-province policing agency regarding a Winnipeg resident. The agency forwarded the reports to the Winnipeg Police Service, who began investigating.

The Winnipeg Police Service Child Abuse Unit became involved, saying the case involves historical, multi-generational sexual assaults.

Authorities say the assaults allegedly occurred between January 1995 and December 2015 at a Winnipeg residence.

At this time five victims have been interviewed, leading the police to take action, but authorities say three other possible victims have also been identified.

On Thursday, a 47-year-old suspect was charged.

The WPS says that they will continue to interview possible victims and are asking anyone with information to call 204-986-3296 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
