The Winnipeg Police Service is advising young people to not accept rides today from strangers.
The WPS says they are "aware of a social media post offering carpooling to facilitate rides to today's climate strike rally."
While carpooling may be a sustainable option, the police say young people should be leary of accepting rides from strangers.
"We caution people from accepting rides from strangers, especially when a significant portion of today's participants will be youth."
Current estimates say that up to 10,000 people could take part in today's strike.
