The Winnipeg Police Service is thanking the public for their help locating a wanted man.

Officers say they have located a 37-year-old suspect wanted in Winnipeg and Edmonton in the Polo Park area. He was found Monday afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. by  West District General Patrol officers and taken into custody.

The Winnipeg Police Service major crimes unit asked people to be on the lookout for a 37-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for several break and enter and theft-related incidents in Winnipeg.

He is described as white, 5'9" and weighing around 155 pounds. He has a thin build, blue eyes, and numerous tattoos. He may have blonde- or brown-coloured hair.

Two arrest warrants have been obtained for the suspect, who police believe was armed and dangerous.

The warrants were obtained for numerous offences, including one count of robbery, 11 counts of break and enter and theft, one count of break and enter with intent, two counts of theft under $5,000 and seven counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order.

Police say these offences have occurred over the past six months, with businesses across the city being the main targets.

He is also the subject of a recent Edmonton arrest warrant for firearms-related offences.
