A woman who had been missing for more than four days in between Piney and Menisino, Man., walked out of the bush alive late Sunday evening.

A family member has confirmed 84-year-old Mary Byman is alive and being checked out in hospital.

She went missing at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday while picking blueberries with a friend. An extensive search was mounted.

Some volunteer searchers from elsewhere in the province were camping near the search site Sunday night. They heard a woman shout, "Please help me."

That's when they found Byman. She was in an area about two kilometres from where she had last been seen.

There were no details given on her condition. More details are expected sometime Monday.
