Police have released the details of another death to add to the series of incidents that occurred in and around Winnipeg over the course of the weekend.

The incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Berry Street of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. 

The release indicates that the woman was lying in the middle of the road and seriously injured. She was transported to the hospital in an unstable condition.

24-year-old, Shannon Joan Marie Romaniuk of Winnipeg died in hospital due to her injuries.

Members of the Traffic Division have assumed the investigation and learned the victim was crossing Portage Avenue when she was struck by the suspect vehicle, described as a silver/grey late model SUV. The vehicle and occupant(s) left the scene after the collision and remain outstanding.
