The Major Crimes Unit, assisted by Tactical Support Unit members followed up on an investigation of many stolen goods in Winnipeg's Westend that ended with four people being arrested. 

During the latter part of July 2022, the Major Crimes and Property Units entered into an investigation regarding numerous Commercial Break & Enter incidents which occurred primarily on the West side of Winnipeg.
 
Through their investigation, two residences and several individuals were identified.

Yesterday the Major Crimes Unit and Tactical Support Unit members executed warrants at two residences: one in the 1000 block of Carter Avenue in Winnipeg and one in the 100 block of Wescana Street in Headingley. A total of four suspects were arrested and placed in custody without incident.
 
Investigators recovered an extensive amount of stolen property and includes the following listed items:
 
- Remington Sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun
- Fuji Mountain Bike (Estimated Value = $700)
- Can-Am Quad (Estimated Value = $20,000)
- 2015 Ford F-150 (Estimated Value = $30,000)
- 2019 Dodge Ram (Estimated Value = $50,000)
- Polaris Indy 850 (Estimated Value = $5,000)
- 750 pairs of Moccasins ( Estimated Value = $49,000)
- Approximately 70 ‘LOL Surprise Dolls’ ( Estimated Value = $2,800)
- Substantial amount of Building materials
- Showroom Fixtures
- Light Fixtures
- Air Conditioning units (new)
- Heat Recovery Ventilation units (HRV)
- Napoleon brand Fireplace
- Light Fixtures (Estimated Value = over $15,000)
- Extensive array of tools
- 16 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms - Estimated Street Value = $160)
- 21/4 oxycodone tablets (Estimated Street Value = $100 - $170)
- $30,000 in currency
 
According to the news release, investigators believe that during July the suspects targeted numerous commercial businesses and stole large amounts of goods from their property. Investigators believe the stolen property was transported and stored at the involved addresses.
 
Thirty-one year old Justin Andrew Hanson from Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:
 
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x 2
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 4
- Break & Enter with Intent – Place x 2
- Break, Enter & Theft - Place x 7
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3
 
Hanson has been detained in custody.
 
Thirty-seven year old Gordon Clarence Kobzisty from Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:
 
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 2
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
 
Kobzisty has been detained in custody.
 
A 31-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance ( Cocaine)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance ( Oxycodone)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance ( Psilocybin)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x 3
 
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
 
A 27-year-old female of Winnipeg is facing the following charge:
 
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
 
She has since been released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
 
Investigators are making efforts to identify victims and have stolen property returned to their rightful owners.
