The province says that over 500 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Manitoba as of Tuesday morning.

Tuesday's announcement shares that the COVID-19 test positivity rate has increased to 1.8 per cent. 

While 17 new cases were announced, the province says that they have removed one case from the list. The province says there are 748 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba.

Currently, 235 people have active cases of COVID-19, and 502 people have recovered.

Public Health officials are sharing that two rural men, one in his 80s and one in his 90s, have died of COVID-19. They both were previously announced cases, with both men hospitalized from the virus. The man in his 90s was from the Niverville/Ritchot health district and the man in his 80s was from Hanover health.

Eleven of the 17 new cases are from the Winnipeg health region.

Two new cases were announced in the  Prairie Mountain Health region, two in the  Southern Health–Santé Sud region, and two new cases in Interlake-Eastern Health region.

Eight people are currently in the hospital with COVID-19, and two of those people are in intensive care.

116,990 total COVID tests have been completed so far in Manitoba, with 1,028 on Monday.
