A new unit is to be added to Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre.
Health Minister Cameron Friesen says the new space in the hospital's emergency department will help patients in various stages of intoxication, withdrawal or in a mental-health crisis.
The province says the project will cost $3.5 million dollars.
The unit is to include two seclusion rooms that can be used to stabilize patients with meth-associated psychosis.
