Many know the Hollywood actor Mr. T for his intense on-screen roles, but this Sunday his congregation got to see a whole other side during his sermon.

Mr. T, whose real name is Laurence Tureaud, attends a church in Chicago, Illinois, called Cosmopolitan Community Church. This past Sunday he delivered the message about doubting Thomas in the Bible.

"Let me set the record straight right here, Thomas was not the only disciple that doubt. As a matter of fact, many of you are doubting Jesus right now!" Mr. T told the congregation.

During his sermon, Mr. T used the King James version of the Bible when quoting the well-known passage.

"Thomas did not doubt Jesus," Mr. T says. "Thomas doubted the disciples who was telling him about Jesus because Thomas knew the disciples were not credible witnesses."

Gearing up to preach, Mr. T shared his hopes for the time on stage beforehand on Twitter

"Being Invited to Preach at My Own Church Next Sunday, October 9. It's a Great Honor and A[n] Awesome Responsibility. Which I Don't Take Lightly. God Willing, I'll plan to do my very Best!"

In multiple tweets he shared about his mother's impact on his faith, saying things like, "I know that my Mother would be very Proud Because I never let Fame Nor Success Stop Me from being A Bold Christian!" and "My Mother always said “Just Do Your Best, and GOD will do the Rest.”That was my Mission."

Mr. T's sermon was the first time he preached at his home church.

"As I always say, before everything, I'm a Christian first."
