Mother's Day fire closes A&W

Another A&W restaurant on Main St. caught fire Sunday. 

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the call at 11:43 a.m. on Mother's Day to the restaurant at 2585 Main St.

The City of Winnipeg said in a release that crews encountered smoke inside the building when they arrived. Once inside they found a fire inside the bathroom.

Crews were able to fight the fire from inside the building to extinguish it.

Everybody inside at the time of the fire was able to evacuate and there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The City said there are no damage estimates available at this time. 

In February a fire at an A&W on Main St. at Inkster Blvd. completely destroyed the building.
