Premier Brian Pallister is hinting at business closures this week.

Dr. Brent Roussin will be announcing new Public Health Orders Friday.

Friday afternoon will see stricter health orders from the province. Premier Brian Pallister says these orders will be effective immediately once announced.

"I have faith in Manitoba that we can do this together," the Premier says.

The pending restrictions have not been announced.

Pallister says Roussin is tied up in court but will announce the restrictions when he leaves. The orders will be announced at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Premier says this is due to hospital case increases, noting that the province is increasing critical bed space.

"God-willing we do not need it, but it is there."

Pallister says the new orders will "not taken happily" by the business community but is hopeful the sick leave supports will be welcome by businesses.

"We think the urgency is real."

This is a developing story.
