The Manitoba Moose held practice in a new rink today, travelling into Charleswood to lace up the skates with a local team.

Parents had a chance to watch their kids skate with the pros when the Manitoba Moose headed to Varsity View Sportsplex in Charleswood to practice with a minor hockey team.

The Minor Atom A1 Winterhawks Blue were the lucky team, jumping on the ice with the Moose for a fun six-on-six game, before signing autographs for all the players and kids in attendance.

"Being a young kid like that seeing your idols is always fun," said Moose captain Patrice Cormier. "It's fun to be able to give back."

The first star of the practice was young Winterhawks Blue goaltender Giles, who robbed a number of players after great passes by the Moose players.
