A missing eight-year-old boy has been found after an overnight search on Roseau River First Nation.

According to a Facebook post by Roseau River Chief Craig Alexander, the child was found safe and alert Saturday after an 18-hour search.

Raymond French, the First Nation's fire chief, said the community was alerted to the search by sirens around 9 p.m. Friday, with the search beginning shortly after.

The child had been last seen by his parents in his yard but he managed to get through a fence.
