Protests are continuing in Iran after a woman was killed for wearing her hijab improperly.

On September 16, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was arrested by morality police in the northern Tehran region of Iran for wearing a hijab improperly. Later, her family shared that she died after allegedly being hit multiple times in the head. This has caused people to protest for more rights.

Behind the scenes, something even more remarkable is happening. Nahid Sepehri, Director of the Iranian Bible Society, says, "Christianity in Iran is growing every day. Every day, people are coming to Christ. And when they come to Christ, they need a Bible. It’s the main thing, the first thing, they need."

"They need the Bible to see what they believe, how they have to grow, what they have to do."

The Iranian Bible Society hopes to provide 1 million Bibles to Iranian Christians between 2023 and 2026. They got an early start, already printing 300,000 this year.

Everyone can be a part of this work.

"We believe in common work with others," says Sepehri. "We can be an arm for each other. Other organizations, individual people, churches, they are all in. Last night I said to one of my friends, ‘Even one penny is counted.’ When that old lady went to the temple and put two pennies there, Jesus said, ‘She paid more than everyone.’"

For people who want to help fund this project, the American Bible Society is collecting the funds. People are asked to designate the funds to the Iranian Bible Society.

Pray for God to strengthen the church inside Iran, and pray that it would continue to grow.

Pray also that the Bibles can get into the country.

"God, please shut down the eyes of people on the border, so they don’t see," says Sepehri. "Let them sleep one extra hour while the Bibles come through. Because in Iran, sometimes they even open the post to see what is in there."
