Christian author Max Lucado is praising God for physical healing.

"I have a brief and very encouraging health update to share with you," says Lucado in a Youtube video update.

In August this year, the speaker and author shared that he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition called an ascending aortic aneurysm.

"It was quite large and it certainly seemed that surgery was going to be a part of my future. After undergoing a couple more tests just a couple of days ago, we were given some surprising and unexpected news."

From when the doctors first checked up until now, the size of Lucado's aneurysm shrunk.

"I want to be quick to credit a good God who, in this case, is choosing to keep a hand of grace around the aneurysm."

Lucado says not only is surgery off the table but he doesn't even need a check-up for another year.

"God has spoken to it [the aneurysm] and said, 'This far you may come, but no farther,'" says the Christian author. One of Lucado's friends told him he would pray over this situation like the passage found in the book of Job.

"Denalyn and I are so grateful for your prayers and our medical team. Most of all we are thankful for our gracious, heavenly Father."
