Matthew West is taking home the top two awards for the ASCAP Christian Music Awards.

ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, is kicking off their two-day social media event announcing all the winners alongside online performances.

West takes ASCAP Christian Songwriter of the Year for the third time for songs including “Nobody” which he was featured on and had Casting Crowns sing, as well as “The God Who Stays.”

"In a year where there’s been a lot of bad news, it’s fun to be able to celebrate something. Writing and collaborating with artists like Mark Hall from Casting Crowns every day is something I’ll never get tired of doing," wrote West on a Facebook post after hearing the news.

He also took the award for ASCAP Christian Music Song of the Year for “Nobody”. This is the fifth time he has received this honour.

I’m so blessed to be able to accept these #ASCAPAwards with Aj Prius and the Combustion Music team," wrote West.

The artist will perform the song and accept the award in exclusive video over the next two days, as the awards are online and happening over two days.

For the eighteenth year in a row, Capitol CMG Publishing has won ASCAP Christian Music Publisher of the Year, including this year. They've put out songs such as “Reason,” “Holy Water,” “Almost Home” and “Build My Life.”

Two performances will be performed on October 8 over social media by Jonathan Lowry of Unspoken and brothers Luke and Joel Smallbone, of For King & Country.
