After recently seeing COVID-19 figures higher than Manitoba has had in months, Tuesday is seeing some lowered numbers.

Over the weekend Manitoba saw new COVID-19 cases rising to similar numbers from early summer, but on Tuesday, they dropped back down.

There are 42 new COVID cases, with nine of those cases being in people who are fully vaccinated, four in those who are partially vaccinated, and 29 in unvaccinated people.

  • New cases include:
  • 17 in Southern Health Sante Sud
  • 16 in Winnipeg
  • four in Prairie Mountain
  • three in Northern Health
  • two in Interlake-Eastern

This brings the total number of cases to 60,333, with 613 of those being active cases, and 58,509 recoveries.

Test requests dropped too. On Monday there were 1,921 COVID-19 tests completes, a drop from 2,480 on Sunday. The test rate in Manitoba is 2.8 per cent.

 

Hospitalizations

There are 82 people in the hospital with 45 of those people having active cases.

In intensive care, there are 19 people with 12 active cases.

 

The number of deaths is 1,211, up two since Monday.
