A man who went missing while hunting with family in northern Manitoba has been safely located.

On Saturday, two family members went hunting north of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (Nelson House). On Sunday afternoon, the pair became separated.

On Monday, one of the two emerged from the bush on Highway 391 and was picked up by a community member. Now alone, he says his hunting partner, 36-year-old Tyrone Gavin Linklater, was last seen Sunday at around 2 p.m. on foot, walking alone in the bush approximately four kilometres west of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation's turn off.

Mounties, including RCMP Search and Rescue and RCMP Police Dog Services, went to the region to search.

On Tuesday afternoon police said that Linklater had been located.
