Man found with severe injuries in critical condition

A man remains in hospital in critical condition after cadets found him suffering from severe injuries.

Cadet units were patrolling the Air Canada Window Park area at 10:35 a.m. Friday when they were flagged down for a nearby disturbance, Winnipeg police say.

Cadets then located the man suffering from severe injuries and began to provide emergency first aid before he was taken to hospital.

An adult suspect was located by officers who responded to the scene. The suspect, a 23-year-old Winnipeg man, is in custody and faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and two counts of failure to comply with a condition of a release order.

Police say the investigation is continuing by the WPS major crimes unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers.
