Two years after receiving a new liver, Allexis Siebrecht is releasing her first music album. And she is only 13 years old.

Siebrecht was born with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia. On June 1, 2015, she received a donor liver from an anonymous deceased donor, which has encouraged her to continue her dream.

"I always had passion to become a Christian hip-hop artist," Siebrecht said.

One of the songs on her new CD, titled My Life, deals with the process. "It's called running and it's about my liver transplant," Siebrecht said.

"I think that I will be helping people, telling people my stories and [learning] other people's stories," Siebrecht said when asked about her future.

For those out there who may have a health issue that they are working through, Siebrecht wants to encourage them. "I want to encourage them to never give up," she said. "Keep persevering and keep pushing on."

Siebrecht is looking to raise money to go to Spain in a few weeks to compete in the Transplant Games. They are like the Olympics for kids who have had transplants.

Badminton, tennis, running, swimming and long jump are the sports Siebrecht will be participating in.

Her CD release concert is tomorrow night at 7pm at the Graffiti Art Gallery, 109 Higgins Ave. Tickets are available at the door.
