Jordan St. Cyr has had many great experiences over the past few years with his music, but he says nothing tops his latest trip.

St. Cyr had a chance to go down to Nicaragua with Compassion Canada to see what poverty looked like there and to try and find ways to help. The 'In My Lifetime' artist took his wife and had the trip of a lifetime.

"The very little that we do as a wealthy country in Canada and the little that we brought to that country makes a huge difference," St. Cyr said. "We were very real and got to share stories with them and helped us realize that we're just all in this together."

On the trip, St. Cyr and his wife got a chance to see what extreme poverty looked like, they went to a centre for new mothers, and they met their own sponsor child, Katherine.

"I found myself in the midst of this extreme poverty completely broken," St. Cyr admitted. He said that this trip has brought him into a new place of writing.

On his list of top experiences, St. Cyr said that this is probably number one.

"I got to experience this with my wife, which is huge," St. Cyr said. "We want to do better together, we want to travel this musical journey together."

St. Cyr latest single sits at 26 on the Canadian Christian Radio Charts, along with a couple other Manitoba artists, including Jon Neufeld and Love & The Outcome.
