Lauren Daigle's album Look Up Child has sold nearly 1 million copies, and now it's set a record in the Christian music world.

The album has now spent 39 weeks at No. 1 of the Christian album charts. Billboard says that's a new record in the Nielsen Music era. In total the album has been on the charts for 44 weeks.

The previous record was held by Switchfoot's The Beautiful Letdown, which spent 38 weeks at No. 1 in 2004-05.

Daigle has not only been making waves in the Christian music world, but also in the secular world. She says that she's seen the success as part of her mission to reach people outside of church.

"My music is having crossover appeal, but it doesn't mean that I'm leaving one for the other or that I'm going to be swept up by one thing or the other. For me, it's like, 'Oh, everything just got even more clear,'" Daigle says.

"Everything just got clearer as to why it is that we go and love people who are outside of the walls of our church, outside of the walls that we're comfortable with," the Christian Post reported.

Billboard says "The album's run has been bolstered by its lead single, 'You Say,' which adds a 51st week atop Hot Christian Songs. Only Hillsong United's 'Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)' has led longer, for 61 weeks starting in December 2013."

The video for 'Rescue,' from Look Up Child, has already gathered over 300,000 views in under 24 hours.
