Kyle Connor potted his team leading sixth goal of the season on the power play at 6:14 of the third period to extend Winnipeg’s lead to 6-3.

Pierre-Luc Dubois, Adam Lowry and Kristian Vesalainen with his first career NHL goal also scored for the Jets who won their home opener 5-1 Thursday over the Anaheim Ducks.

Nick Cousins had a goal and two assists for Nashville.

The Predators also got goals from Colton Sissons, Roman Josi and Philip Tomasino.

Winnipeg played without captain Blake Wheeler and forward Mark Scheifele for the second straight game as both are in NHL COVID-19 protocol.

The Jets (2-2-1) begin a three-game California road trip on Tuesday when they face Anaheim for the third time this season.
