Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek shared some exciting news recently and says his doctors are "just beside themselves with joy."

Trebek sat down for an interview with People magazine and shared that his tumours are shrinking by as much as 50 per cent

"I told the doctors, this has to be more than just chemo," Trebek says. "I've had a couple million people out there who have expressed their good thoughts, their positive energy and their prayers. The doctors said it could very well be an important part of this."

Trebek says that he still has several more rounds of chemotherapy to go through and hopes that he will go into full remission.

The beloved game show host announced on March 5, 2019, that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. At the time Trebek said, "I'm going to keep working. And with the love and support of my family and friends, and with the help of your prayers, also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."

Trebek told People "I’ve got a lot of love out there headed in my direction and a lot of prayer, and I will never ever minimize the value of that."
