An investigation continues after a street closure, a collision, and an officer-involved shooting on Remembrance Day.

On November 11, 2019, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Street Unit supervisor observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Pembina Hwy and Point Rd.

The supervisor, with the assistance of another street supervisor attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the stolen vehicle rammed both cruiser cars and broke free of the containment.

During the course of the incident, an officer discharged a firearm. A passenger from the stolen vehicle fled on foot, and the vehicle fled.

The stolen vehicle was located abandoned a short time later in the area of Corydon Avenue and Queenston Street where it struck a fence.
