Drivers should be prepared for a slippery commute Monday morning following the weekend storm.

City crews are hard at work clearing the snow from a Colorado Low that dumped between 10 and 20 centimetres on the region.

Many major routes have now been cleared, but an icy polish has been left in the wake of much of the equipment.

The City says that almost all P1 streets have been cleared as of early Monday morning. About 50 per cent of P2 streets have been cleared.

Sanding equipment is also out on the roads looking to add traction for drivers.

An extended Snow Route Parking Ban is currently in place. That means no parking hours are extended on Snow Routes to begin at midnight rather than 2 a.m., until the ban is lifted.

Outside the City of Winnipeg, most highways are at least partly snow-covered with reduced visibility in some areas due to blowing snow.
