Manitoba Hydro is expecting most people's power to be restored late Friday morning after a pole was damaged.
They are sharing the cause of a power outage that includes the areas around Grace Hospital and the St. James Assiniboia Pool, saying it was due to a burnt hydro pole.
There is a large power outage affecting roughly 1,940 Manitoba Hydro customers in areas such as Crestview, Sturgeon Creek, Westwood. This includes major routes such as Portage Avenue between Woodlands Crescent and David Street and the intersection of Ness Avenue and Moray Street.
Hydro is anticipating power to be restored by 11:15 a.m. for most customers
#mboutage Staff found a burnt pole to be the culprit. We are going to isolate the damaged pole and restore power to the majority of customers by about 11:15 am. 138 customers directly adjacent to the damage will remain out for longer while we make repairs. pic.twitter.com/Lr198VucTD
