Colleen Houde has sat behind the morning news desk on CHVN for 13 years, but it was her singing that first caught the attention of the station.

Houde was already working in media as a videographer for A Channel in 2005 when CHVN ran a talent search.

"I was driving to a shoot when I heard on the radio about the talent search and decided to audition," she says.

Houde hadn't sung much in public up to that point but knew she loved it and felt something prompting her to enter.

Finalists went through a four-week competition during which time the audience helped narrow down the field.

As the winner of the contest, Houde recorded songs which received air time on Christian radio, including 'Rocked My World' and 'True.'

Jordan Janzen, now lead singer of The Color, was the runner-up of the talent search.
