A low pressure system is making its way through the southern part of the province and bringing with it high winds, snow, and reduced visibility.

Southerly winds of 50 km/h with gusts up to 80 km/h are underway this morning with 4 to 8 cm of fresh snow forecast to fall. 

A blowing snow advisory has been issued for parts of the province, including: Winnipeg, Killarney, Modern, Winkler, Altona, Portage la Prairie, Steinbach, and Emerson. 

Poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions are expected today. Drivers are asked to adjust to the changing road conditions. 

The snow and winds will gradually diminish into the evening hours. 

Slightly below seasonal temperatures are expected in Winnipeg over the weekend. A mix of sun and cloud are in the forecast Saturday with a high on -17 degrees. Sunday shows cloud cover and a high of -16.
