Reconstruction work on Highway 75 northbound between St. Jean and Morris is nearing completion for this season.

The roadway has been raised to withstand a 2009 level flood along the Red River and includes a new concrete reconstruction.

Manitoba infrastructure says the $14-million project will be completed soon and should be open to traffic by the end of October.

New concrete lanes along Highway 75 northbound between St. Jean and Morris will soon be opened to traffic.

Meanwhile, work along Highway 75 near the Canada-U-S border should wrap by this week.

Most of the activity has centred on the reconstruction of PR 200 east of Highway 75, the Emerson Weigh Scale site and construction of the northbound truck lane at Canada Customs.

Manitoba Infrastructure officials say those projects, valued at about $5-million, have progressed well this year and should be finished by Friday, October 23rd.
