Witnesses say that a motorcyclist is fortunate to be alive following an accident on Highway 7 near Stony Mountain, Man. Saturday afternoon. 

A motorcycle and car collided on the highway near the Esso fuel station around 1 p.m.

Dustin Francis says the force of the impact threw the motorcyclist from the bike and into the windshield of the vehicle.

STARS Ambulance responded to the scene of the accident along with RCMP and emergency crews.

A spokesperson from STARS says that the motorcyclist was transported to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg in stable condition.

The highway was shut down for a short time while the scene was cleared.
