A private high school in southern Manitoba created two incredible music videos starring their senior vocal jazz choir.

Mennonite Collegiate Institute (MCI) put together two music videos for their senior vocal jazz choir, Resonate. The videos were filmed back in November 2017 by former alumni of the school, Jay Siemens.

"We just thought it would be a really neat project," said Rick Heppner Mueller, music director at MCI.

The choir was set on filming in November, which meant they needed to be in a studio recording by October, which Heppner Mueller says is not an easy feat.

"These singers worked so hard in rehearsal," Heppner Mueller said. "It's neat to see them starting to generate some attention."

That attention has led to more performance requests and praise from people who were not previously connected to the school. The videos also draw attention to Manitoba's beauty, including open fields and the windmills off Highway 75.

"I drive by those wind turbines fairly often and it's breathtaking to see the landscape," Heppner Mueller said.

MCI's music director says they hope to do this again soon.
