After a long, cold, and extremely snowy winter, people in southern Manitoba can finally look forward to a week of mild weather (although more snow could also be on the way for some).

Temperatures will stay below the freezing mark on Monday but then should reach daytime highs above 0 degrees the remainder of the week. Winnipeg can expect a mix of sun and cloud Monday with a high of -6. Temperatures will continue to climb Monday evening to -2 by Tuesday morning.

Cloud cover will be common from Tuesday to Thursday, and the clouds will bring rain or snow depending on your location.

A high of +3 on Tuesday in Winnipeg will also bring rain come Tuesday evening. The rain is expected to last throughout Wednesday, with a high of +2, and may possibly turn into flurries Wednesday evening. Areas further north, such as the Parkland, will likely see snow instead of rain.

Sunshine should arrive by Friday with a high of +4, and a mix of sun and cloud is expected on Saturday with a high of +3.

Normal daytime highs for this time of year are -1 and normal lows are -12. Overnight lows are not expected to be any colder than -5 on Thursday.
