A fatal collision just outside of Oak Bluff is being investigated by RCMP.

On Thursday evening, a pick-up truck and an SUV on Highway 3 collided head-on on Highway 3, one km south of Oak Bluff.

At 8:35 p.m. officers responded, finding emergency medical services personnel and the local fire department on the scene.

Crews got to work extracting the pickup driver from their vehicle. Authorities say the vehicle's only occupant, a 56-year-old man from Brunkild, was airlifted by STARS to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 73-year-old man from Roseisle who was driving the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene.

RCMP says its Criminal Collision Investigation Team and Forensic Collision Reconstructionist are investigating.
