Environment Canada says that parts of south central and southeast Manitoba could be in store for some wild weather today.

From Environment Canada:

  • Area(s): South central, and southeastern areas
  • Timing: Mostly late afternoon and through the evening
  • Threats: isolated severe thunderstorms

Hot and moderately humid conditions return to southern Manitoba. A cold front will pass through southern Manitoba later today. Likely there will be isolated thunderstorms along this front giving wind gusts over 90 km/h, with possible hail bigger than nickel-sized.

Local smoke persists through central and northern Manitoba near forest fires.

The front will bring more organized showers and thundershowers the farther north in Manitoba. Areas north of The Pas will get 5 to 15 mm and areas in extreme northern Manitoba will see more steady showers and embedded thundershowers and 20 to 40 mm of total rainfall.
