A Christian singer is reminding followers through Instagram about the power of prayer and community during struggles.

On Tuesday morning, Christian singer Tauren Wells took to Instagram to call his followers to pray. He believes there is power in the Word. "Pray. Not just casual prayers but IN the Spirit," Wells says.

Using Jude 1:19-21, Wells says overcoming his own struggles tend to contradict his new life in Christ. He has a strong community of supporters that are helping him with his journey. Wells says it is important for Christians to find people with the same beliefs to tackle their own struggles.

"I must surround myself with people who don't just justify my feelings but build my faith," Wells says further in his Instagram post.

He writes about the importance of praying with people who have the same passion for God and the Christian community.

The past two years have been a success for the singer. Tauren Wells has four Grammy nominations in total, two for Hills and Valleys and one for 'Known' in 2019, and his latest 2020 Grammy nomination was for his song 'God's Not Done With You.' Wells' music has also been noticed by The Billboard Charts. This year he has had five Top Ten Hits on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs list.

“These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.” ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:19-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬ - I have a lot of natural instincts that contradict the new life I now live in Christ. My feelings may tell some truth but not the whole truth. That’s why I must surround myself with people who don’t just justify my feelings but build my faith (which sometimes challenges my feelings). Pray. Not just causal prayers but IN the spirit. Surrender to the mercy of God and believe the promise for true safety in God’s love. The Word is POWERFUL.
