“This investigative success has a clear message, those who assault the weakest aren't safe anywhere," says German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer.

Minister Seehofer is Germany's top security official and he recently thanked the authorities for their success in taking down this platform.

"That's what investigators work day and night, online and offline, globally," says Seehofer. "We'll do everything within our power to protect the kids from these disgusting crimes."

The platform taken down was one of the biggest international darknet sites and was used by more than 400,000 registered members, according to German prosecutors. According to the official statement, the German police task force worked in cooperation with Europol and law enforcement authorities from the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, the United States, and Canada.

On Monday, May 3, Frankfurt prosecutors with the Federal Criminal Police announced they arrested three men in mid-April who were said to be the administrators of the “Boystown” platform. One of the suspects was arrested in Paraguay, South America.

The prosecutor's statement said the three men worked as administrators of the site and gave advice to members on how to evade law enforcement when using the platform for illegal child pornography.
