Jordan Peters is hoping to miss out on final exam week in his freshman year at Providence University College.

The Rosenort, MB native is off to the 2017 Canadian Under-18 Curling Championships in Moncton, NB. Peters is part of Team Manitoba and representing the province in the first ever under-18 national championship.

Talking about the moment the team won the provincial title, Peters says it was "Unbelievable. It was adrenaline-rushing. It was unexplainable really - I couldn't explain what I was feeling."

Peters knows the competition will be tough, but thinks his team has a good chance. "There's definiteley going to be some hard teams there, but I think we do [have a good chance]. Our skip went last year but it wasn't a national event yet. But he went last year and lost in the bronze medal game. I think we'll have some tough teams, but we definitely have a shot at getting the gold."

The tournament dates do pose a problem for the college student, taking place from April 18 - 22. "I do [have exams that week].

"I've had to call in and try and rearrange my schedule."

Peters says that his professors have been helpful, working with him so that he can have the best experience possible at the tournament.
