Volunteers are needed for the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.

The call was put out yesterday morning; they're looking for about 800 people.

Zoe Leclerc-Kennedy with the volunteer department at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre says there are lots of different jobs.

"Selling tickets and ushering the shows, helping sell tickets and serving drinks in our beer tents in Old Market Square, facilitating fun with our little fringers at Kids' Fringe, answering patrons' questions, and keeping the festival tidy and organized."

Leclerc-Kennedy says the easiest way to sign up to volunteer is online, but you can also call (204) 934-7464 or email volunteers[at]winnipegfringe.com.

She says there are perks to volunteering, like getting into some shows free.

The Winnipeg Fringe Festival runs July 19-30. This is the festival's 30th year.
