A fair is coming to Winnipeg this weekend that aims to unite people passionate about prayer and human trafficking issues.

Marla Friesen is with Fort Richmond Baptist Church's Freedom Prayer Network, who will be playing host to the Freedom Fair this Sunday evening. "This is an opportunity for the church to come and gather around front line ministries that are serving and meetng the needs of human trafficking issues," Friesen says.

It's an annual event that was birthed out of the 2014 Missionfest. "There was a group of women that decided to gather together to pray once a month after that missionfest. Through the next 15 months they prayed every month for human trafficking issues."

In the fall of 2015 they decided to host the first Freedom Fair. "It is a fair-like event, where you have the ministries involved that have a booth and you can come and meet them and get to know them. But it's very different in that it is a prayer and worship night."

The 2017 Freedom Fair takes place Sunday, September 24, at Fort Richmond Baptist Church. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event runs from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
