After a successful water bottle drive last week, Food Fare was able to deliver a couple pallets of water to Siloam Mission.

Two weeks ago, Siloam Mission put out a call for help. During the intense heat, their bottled water supply had run low. They were in need and the community stepped up.

People from Winnipeg and Manitoba brought water bottles to CHVN for us to deliver, while others brought water directly to Siloam. And thanks to a recent water drive, Food Fare Winnipeg was able to donate more than 275 cases of water to add to Siloam's growing stockpile.

"The need has been met by those around us," said CEO of Siloam Mission Jim Bell

Food Fare matched all cases of water donated to Siloam on Wednesday, August 2 and the total was brought to Siloam Mission.

"It's the right thing to do," owner and manager Munther Zeid said during last week's water drive.

Bell says Siloam was down to two pallets of water and they are now over 30.

"The needs never go away," said Bell. Some items that the mission could use at the end of summer include:

  • Underwear
  • Shorts
  • Hats
  • T-shirts
  • Sunscreen
