A new urban agriculture project was unveiled yesterday in a Winnipeg neighbourhood that stems from food security concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Meadowood Victory Garden was once a plot of land filled with gravel, but will now grow an assortment of leafy greens and hearty vegetables.

Jeanette Sivilay of the Winnipeg Food Council says there's been a lot of disruption in the food system, and they wanted to show what can be done in the city in terms of self-sufficiency.
