Firefighters are still investigating a blaze at a two-storey townhouse complex under construction in the Regent area.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire on Prymak Place just before 7 p.m. Monday.

Smoke was coming from the structure when crews arrived.

An offensive attack was launched but deteriorating conditions forced crews to exit the structure and use a defensive attack instead.

After conditions improved, crews reentered the structure and declared the fire under control at 7:33 p.m.

WFPS says the fire was contained to the suite it began in.

No occupants were found after a search of the building and no injuries were reported in relation to the fire.

No damage estimates are available at this time.
