The Red River has now reached Major Flood Stage at Fargo, North Dakota.

According to the National Weather Service, the Red there will crest Sunday at 35 feet, which is more than five feet below the record crest of 2009.

In Grand Forks, the Red River is now at Minor Flood Stage and is expected to reach Major Flood Stage on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has not come out with a predicted crest date at Grand Forks, though by next week Friday it is expected to hit 47.4 feet, which is within two feet of 2009 levels.
